Hi Angie! Obviously I don't have experience with this yet, but I have read about getting a doll that cries and holding it, swaddling it, changing its diaper, etc... Obviously not as simple, but kind of like preparing a pet for a baby. Maybe if Ke...

First of all, welcome to the Whine club Maya! I'm not really sure how to go about encouraging independent play. My daughter is only 17 months old but I feel like she also has a hard time playing alone. I would like to hear any suggestions though ...

I ended up getting the Bjorn potty chair... I had looked at the Boon and it seems like a real cool deal but after reading a bazillion reviews it sounded like it was more hassle than I wanted to deal with. The Bjorn is pretty straight forward, no b...

Hi Heather, yes I would like to do it... I guess I got overwhelmed with the idea of doing it on my own! I can contact Milagros to see if it is a possibility there... what do you think?

Also, I got Elliot into Growing Seeds Irvington... I am SO excited! I loved the tour and had a wonderful conversation with the infant toddler coordinator at your center a couple of months ago. We start in September!

Hi Heather, I had my tour today and was actually appalled by this center... they are expensive and did not seem to know what they were talking about... I do have my degree in early childhood, so I might be pickier than most, but I can't believe how much they charge for that environment! The baby room looked to be the best part of that place, I am sure Hadley was in a good place, but looks like you made a good decision to leave.

Thanks for your help. I have 4 more tours scheduled this week and will go to the Growing Seeds tour on April 1.

Heather, I have a tour at the Children's Garden tomorrow. You mentioned that you did not care for the center very much. Can you tell me specifically what you did not like? We are also touring several other centers this week, so I have options... just wanted to hear your take.

Thanks,

Stefanie

Thanks! And it's good to hear from you!!! Zoe started taking predictable naps in December, but they usually start about 9:30 or 10am. So, that makes it really difficult to go to any baby activities. Needless to say, we haven't been to many baby things for about a month and a half. If you know of any afternoon activities, please let me know! Hope to see you and Hadley soon!!!

From Ina (she left the comment on my wall by accident):
Heather,

It was a nice suprise to see you and Hadley at Baby Book Time. I truly enjoyed spending time with you. The name of the book that I suggested is The Toddlers' Busy Book by Trish Kuffner. It has many great ideas that require almost no purchasing of new things. See you all Saturday at swim class.

Hey Heather - Some of the mom's of older kids were asking about the Whine Club the other day at BAM. You may want to send out the info about it to Michelle Bressler's email list and to the Puddle Jumpers list again. I couldn't remember the site address when they asked (the ning part throws me off!). Probably can get some more mom's to join that way!
Hope you and Hadley are well - will see you at the party on Dec 6th hopefully!

Hi Heather! I met you and your little girl at Kendra's a couple of months ago. I met the fellow Puddle Jumpers after you started back to work I think. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for the Whine Club! None of our friends have kids and our family is all back East. Its been such a great help and resource to me, along with gals in BAM. Hopefully, I'll see you at one of the get togethers soon!

Hi Heather--We're doing well! I was wondering why I hadn't seen you at Gymboree...I thought maybe you started going on different days. We miss seeing you and your little one. How is Hadley doing?

We were in New Jersey this week, visiting Casey's parents. The flight out was great--Anna slept the entire time (yea!). We're coming back on Monday and I'm hoping we have a similar experience.

Sleep is going well--we settled on a routine (dinner, bath and jammies, and nursing until drowsy). We finally did Ferber's sleep training...it was so hard hearing Anna cry, but now she usually goes down without much of a protest. She still wakes up at night (every few nights) but cries for a few minutes and then falls asleep. Very rarely does Casey have to go in and soothe her. I have yet to apply this to nap time, but when we come back from our trip I plan on doing it (not looking forward to it at all!).

Give Hadley a little hug for me--can you believe our babies are 7 months already? It went by so fast! (Except, of course, the wakeful nights which went by s-l-o-w-l-y.)

See you soon!

Oooo, I could be into Book Babies if Henry is up from his nap in time. Let's touch base tomorrow.

Thumbs up for the Keekaroo

We got the high chair delivered by UPS as on Friday as promised and I put it together. It is great! I love the way it looks and I've adjust the seat and foot rest to fit Hadley's chubby little legs. She's not sitting unassisted for any amount of time yet, so we sat her down, strapped her in and used the tray attachment. I opted for the "accessory kit" that comes with a wooden tray attachment, wooden grab bar attachment and washable seat pads. I put some toys on the tray for her while John and I… Continue

It's like Christmas!

I've been checking the tracking numbers everyday and today is the day I should be receiving Hadley's new high chair and stroller. We do plan on waiting another month to start solid foods, but I would like to be ready. Also, I needed the new stroller before heading back to Minneapolis. It is much lighter than the Chicco Discovery travel system stroller I am currently using, and it folds down very small… Continue
