Kids Are Like Wine, They Get Even Better With Age

Hi -

The gorgeous weather we are having this week made me realize I need to invest in some sunscreen for the kiddo. Now that Jack is walking everywhere and getting into everything, I want to make sure he's protected well. There are a ton of brands out there and come in stick, lotion, spray ,etc. Anyone have a recommendation for one that they really like?

hi emily -
we've been using the jason (earth's best) organic sunscreen. it's a lotion and it's really thick - so a little hard to apply and he usually looks a little like a ghost for awhile until it all soaks in! oh and i basically have to pin him down to get it all worked in and in the right places - not fun or easy to put on. he's been well protected with it though! i actually picked up a couple more to try this weekend. i got the banana boat kids spray and used it on kellen's arms and legs this morning. so much easier to apply and kellen actually thought it was funny to spray and then rub it into his arms and legs. for some reason - probably not rational, but in my head i feel better about this - i still use the organic non chemical kind on his face! i went with the burt's bees this morning. first time using it. again, not easy to work in and this seemed to dry on his face before i could even get it worked it...but i'm hoping it does the trick!

i'd love to hear about what others are using!

We have the Banana Boat baby sunscreen spray for daycare (like Angie said, it's super easy to apply) and in my diaper bag I have the same stuff but in stick form. It's about the size of a glue stick so it's small and easy to apply.

Angie--the good thing about the thick stuff is at least you know you are getting it everywhere when his skin is white until it soaks in. I may have to get some lotion for Hadley's face so I can make sure she is fully covered.
