Kids Are Like Wine, They Get Even Better With Age

Standing and screaming in crib at nap and bedtime

Scarlett was finally on a good schedule...we could put her in her crib with her monkey and she'd lay down and go to sleep. No issues. This weekend, that all changed. Now she stands-up and screams signing for 'more' and screaming for mama. If we let her cry, she will do it for an hour (I stopped this morning at an hour). If we go in there, lay her down and stand there, she goes to sleep in 5 minutes. Any ideas on what is causing this change and what do do about it? Part of me says to just deal with it for a week and see if it goes away. Other part of me says to just let her cry until she finally lays down and goes to sleep...although, with all the sleep issues we have had with her from day one, I know that this option probably won't work. Any thoughts out there?

That makes sense - she has also been screaming if I walk out of the room, even if Todd is with her. Her favorite sign right now is 'more' and we get 'more' and mama all day. I thought we were past the separation anxiety, but I guess not. We'll just deal with it while this phase works itself out. It is amazing, just when you think you have things figured out, they throw you another curveball!
